Stoke’s Early Days
1974
Warren Milton Stokes, a master builder turned accountant, moved his family to Queensland in 1975, seeing it as a land of opportunity. He and his three sons became key figures in accounting and financial planning, eventually running over 40 offices.

Warren pioneered the seasonal “shopping centre tax booth” model and other widely used practices in accounting. He was a founding member of his Rotary Club and church and championed philanthropy in business. Their commercial yet mindful approach drives a long-standing commitment to helping family businesses, many across multiple generations.

James Stokes, Warren’s grandson and the family’s first lawyer, founded Stokes Lawyers (then esource legal) in Logan City in 2013, guided by mentor Garry Stokes. With expertise in tax and commercial law, James became a leading advisor on succession, structuring, and major business events. Stokes Lawyers has since grown into Logan City’s largest commercial law firm, helping family businesses and private clients navigate opportunities in a changing world.
